CONNEAUT – Stephen W. Polk, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the David Simpson Hospice House, Cleveland.
He was born November 29, 1947, in Cleveland, the son of Stephen W. and Mildred (Lilly) Polk, Sr. and had been an area resident most of his life.
A 1966 graduate of Ashtabula High School, the was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged.
Prior to his retirement, he worked over 25 years as an engineer and conductor on the railroad before retiring from Conrail.
An avid motorcyclist, he also loved animals.
His survivors include his children, Stephen (Sonya) Polk III and Wesley James Polk; grandchildren, Jake and Josh Polk, Nicole Stroud, and Mandy Curtis; great-grandchildren, Starr, Summer, Sky, Olivia, and Morgan; his former wife and very loving friend, Roberta Rose; his companion Monica Thompson; and his longtime friend Alice Mackey-Huston.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
No services will be held at this time. He will be laid to rest at a later date with his parents at East Conneaut Cemetery.
