Obituary of Eroy Watson

Eroy Watson, 88, passed away September 3, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1933, in Eastman, Georgia the daughter of the late Brian and LuEllen (Fordham) Lampkin. Eroy attended Peabody High School in Georgia. Over the years Eroy worked as a nurse’s aide at various nursing homes. Eroy was a faithful servant of the Lord, she served as an usher and enjoyed singing. She attended Faith Tabernacle in Painesville and most recently attended the 120th Church of God in Christ. Eroy enjoyed singing and when her grandchildren were young, she would make up a song for them and sing to them. She also enjoyed writing poetry, and quilting. Mrs. Watson is survived by her children, Deborah (Gary) McConnell, Evelynn Watson, Darlene James, Evon Watson, Ella Mae (Tom) Wargo; and Earlie Watson, Jr.; 30 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Alberta in infancy; brothers, Zeke and Earnest Fordham; sisters, Carrie Bass and Madeline Spikes; grandson, Marcus Watson; great-grandson, Freddie Johnson; and her parents. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 11AM at New Hope Baptist Church, 428 W. Jackson, St., Painesville, Ohio 44077, with Pastor Raymond Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
