Richard J. Dube Kingsville – Richard John Dube, 79, passed away on September 7, 2022 after a sudden illness; surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital Cleveland Ohio. The son of Fred Leroy and Elizabeth Regina (Orsag) Dube Richard was born on November 19, 1942, in Ashtabula and had remained a lifetime area resident. Richard graduated from St. John High School and Duquesne University with a double major in Journalism and Marketing. Richard was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Joseph Church of Ashtabula. Richard and Linda M. Mucci were united in marriage on January 7, 1994, and together they shared life’s journeys. They enjoyed visiting their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They also enjoyed being home and spending time with each other. Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving active duty from1964-1966 on the USS Saratoga and completed his service in 1970 having been in the Navy Reserves from which he was honorably discharged. Richard began his career in advertising with Dix and Eaton and was promoted to Vice President. Richard felt the urge to begin his own advertising firm; R.J. Creative Group in 1980 and was still working on projects up until his passing. Richard was an innovative and talented advertising executive. Creating many campaigns that allowed his clients to become very successful. Richard mentored many people along the way, which allowed them to begin their own business’ or move on to other pursuits in the advertising world. He never tired of teaching those skills and was proud when his protégé’s were successful. Owning his own business allowed him to pursue another career, substitute teaching. He enjoyed interacting with his students from Geneva and Grand Valley. Richard enjoyed writing and he shared that with the students. A regular at the Ashtabula YMCA, Richard never missed a day of exercising and being with his fellow early morning health enthusiasts. Richard will be remembered as a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. His faith, sense of duty, and care of his fellow man will be long remembered. Richard is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years, Linda M. Dube; children, Chris(Joe)Horos, Elizabeth Dube, Rebecca(Donald Rossi)Miller, Robert(Beth) Lehtonen,II and Barbara Lehtonen; grandchildren, Christiana Horos, Michael(Marissa Miller) Horos, Samantha Zappitelli, Sidnee Zappitelli, Robert Lehtonen, III, Amanda Lehtonen; great grandchildren, Kyla Horos with a little one to join Kyla and Mina Zappitelli; sister-in-law, Linda L. Dube; nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Robert F. Dube and his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be observed Saturday, September 10, 2022, 10:30AM; Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Joseph Church, 3312 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev. Raymond Thomas presiding. Military honors provided by Dewey Howlett Post #103 of the American Legion. Visitation from 9:30AMuntil 10:30AM at St. Joseph Church.
