Obituary of Samuel G. Doverspike

Kelloggsville- Samuel G. Doverspike, Jr., 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2022 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on June 7, 1953, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania the son of Samuel G. and Jane R. (Kestner) Doverspike. Sam enjoyed working on cars at young age and went to trade school to become a mechanic. He recently retired from Concord Transportation, where he was the head mechanic. Sam loved racing, was at the racetracks, either racing, working in the pits or sitting on turn three, watching the race. He loved going to the New Smyrna Speedway or Bithlo Raceway. Sam also enjoyed watching NASCAR and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He dearly loved his granddaughters and will be deeply missed by his family. Sam is survived by his wife, Debra Ann (Paugh) Doverspike, whom he married on April 21, 1979, in Orlando, Florida; daughter, Barbara Pierce; granddaughters, Mikhaela and Ambriah Doverspike and Jenika Arrietta; brother, Keith (Pat) Doverspike; sisters, Cindy (Ed) Work, Dana (Joseph) Fry, and Debbie (Joey) Cason; numerous nieces and nephews; and he was eagerly awaiting his great-grandson, who will be born in January. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott R. Doverspike; brother, Jimmy Doverspike; and his parents. At his request no calling hours or services will be held.
