Zannette Eleanor Bennett, 69, of Ashtabula, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in her home surrounded by loved ones. A lifetime resident of Ashtabula, Zannette was born on July 30, 1953, the daughter of Milton G. and Rachel (Stillman) Luce. Zannette worked as a cook for several years. One of her proudest moments in life was taking her GED test after she turned 40. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by many. Left to cherish her memories are her four children, Lola M. Sands of TN, Michael J. Bennett of Ashtabula, Joseph F. Bennett of Trumbull, and Frannette Higley of Orwell; four sisters, Arlene, Tina, Brenda, Bernice; five brothers, Wallace, Terry, Milton, Rex, William; nine grandchildren, Benjamin, James T., Darrell, Lisa Marie, Jamie, Michael II, Tessa, Corey, Cortney; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bennett; whom she had been with since they met on May 11, 1971, her brother, Aaron Luce, and her parents. Per her wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Zannette’s name may be made to The Hospice of the Western Reserve-Ashtabula.
