Obituary of Ruth Wright

On October 2, 2022, God gave his beloved Sandria Ruth Wright rest as she transitioned in his presence from Carington Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Ruth Wright, Roosevelt and Mary Thorne, brothers, Bishop Bernard Mann and Carlton Mann. She is survived by her parents Elvin and Catherine Wright, Sr.; three brothers, E. Sylvester Wright, Jr., Kenneth Mann, and Darryl Mann; sisters, her twin Angela Ruby Hill, Dora Lynn Wright and Tenita Arnette Rodgers (Donnell). Ruth was born October 12, 1952, to Elvin Wright Sr., and Catherine Wright. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1971; living in Boston, Massachusetts where she was employed by John Hancock Insurance for 20 years. She later moved to Ohio with her spiritual mother, Pastor Ora Tyus who truly loved her as a daughter . Ruth studied Human Service Technology at Kent State University, graduating with an Associate Degree in Child Care. Ruth was employed at Burns Kid College in Ashtabula for many years. She had a passion and love for children and teaching. Ruth was a loving daughter, sister and friend. Ruth’s first love has always been her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom she accepted at an early age at Evergreen Apostolic Faith Church of God. Ruth was a member of Mount Horeb Apostolic Church of God, Bedford, Ohio under the leadership of Pastor Ora Tyus. Ruth served with passion as a servant, missionary and teacher. She loved ministering and soul winning everywhere she went. She leaves to cherish her memory numerous, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. With Presiding Bishop, Clint Roberts Northern District Overseer ASCOG; Elder John Thomas and Pastor Ora Tyus, of Mount Horeb Apostolic Church of God to officiate. Visitation from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home. Ruth’s services will be streamed live on the Ducro Facebook website for those unable to attend.
