Obituary of Fate Jones

Fate Jones Ashtabula- Fate Jones, 95 was called to Jesus’ loving arms joining his beloved wife Neallie on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Fate was born on April 5, 1927, in Urbana, Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lafate Jones and moved to the Ashtabula area in 1951 and remained an area resident. On September 27, 1947, Fate Jones and Neallie Mae Gaines were united in marriage. Their marriage was one of mutual respect and love, the memories created were cherished treasures of the heart. Fate was employed with Union Carbide his first and only job where he worked for forty-five years, he was a dedicated employee. He made many friends during his employment and enjoyed keeping in touch. A man who enjoyed fishing, Fate was very content to drop a line and wait for a bite no mater how long it took. He would invite you to play cards and his favorite was “Bid Whist” where he enjoyed a long winning streak. Fate was dedicated to his family; he loved and supported them in their many endeavors. Celebrated their successes and held them close during times of sorrow. Fate will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and great- great grandpa. Survivors include his children; three daughters, Dorothy ( Frank) Gums, Willie Jones and Elmerene Jones all of Ashtabula; siblings, Luther R. Jones, Charles (Pauline) Jones , Frances(John) Payne, and Lily Mae Moore; loving grandchildren, Stacy Jones, Adrian Jones, Darian Jones, Vernell Jones, Marvin Jones, Jr, Marleena Jones, Anthony Hargrove, Anitra Young and many loving great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Fate was preceded in death by his wife, Neallie Mae Jones; son Marvin Jones ; brother, John C. Jones; sister, Daisy Moody; great-great grandson Jalen Amir Love; sister-in-law, Monica Jones; brother-in-law, O.C. Moore; and his parents. Homegoing Services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Zaback Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev Thomas McCain officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memory Gardens3140 East Center Street, North Kingsville, Ohio, 44068. Visitation will be observed from 11Am until time of services at the funeral home.
