Obituary of Kenneth Ray Gray

Kenneth Ray Gray, 59, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Kenneth was born on April 18, 1963, in Ashtabula. He was a 1980 graduate of Ashtabula High School and went on to earn degrees from fashion school in Miami, Florida and Cleveland State University. Kenneth was an office manager in Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Baltimore. Maryland. In Baltimore he was an office manager for Pepco for over 25 years before returning to Ashtabula in 2021. He also served at one point as choir director at People’s Missionary Baptist Church in Ashtabula and Tabernacle Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Kenneth enjoyed shopping, traveling singing, sweets (especially cake), and spending time with his family. He is survived by his mother, Alberta Wolford of Ashtabula; his siblings, Robert(Caren)Gray of Maple Heights, Ohio, Ray Wade of Tupelo, Mississippi, Byron (Yvette) Sargent of Blue Springs, Missouri, Darrell (Jolyn) Sargent of Tucson, Arizona, Cheryl Sargent of Ashtabula, Kevin Sargent of Copley, Ohio, Steven Sargent of Ashtabula, and Sonja Robinson of Janesville, Wisconsin; his aunts, Ada Carmichael, Stella Jackson, Merlin Thompson, and Annie Williams, all of Ashtabula; his uncle, Bobby Gray of Ashtabula; his niece and nephews, Victoria Gray, Robert Gray, Jr. and Taylor Gray; and his great nieces and nephews, Julian, Carter, Zaria, D.J. and Karina. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Estelle Jackson. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Zaback Williams Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Street, Ashtabula at 1:00 PM.
