Please share a memory of Hazel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hazel Mae Allen, 90, of N. Kingsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savoir on Friday, October 28, 2022. Born August 12, 1932, in Pioneer, OH, she was a daughter of the late Homer Nelson Miller and Vera Mae (Tressler) Miller. Throughout her life, she faithfully served her Lord and Savior. Dedicating her life to the Lord, Hazel was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church, Ashtabula. During her childhood, Hazel grew up in Cherry Valley. Growing up, her father lovingly called her horse teeth or mule ears and enjoyed fishing together at Pymatuning Lake. An excellent seamstress, her mother would sew her beautiful clothing for school. As a teenager, Hazel met the love of her life, Clifford C. Allen, roller skating in Dorset. On January 21, 1950, they got married at Dorset Methodist Church Parsonage. For several years, she worked alongside her husband, Clifford, at their business, C.C. Allen Wood Products, as co-owner and secretary. She also was employed at Yoder’s Green House, Ashtabula and retired from the former Miller Memorial Health Care Center, Andover as an occupational therapist assistant. Some of her favorite pastimes were growing large gardens, home canning for her family, crocheting baby blankets for her many grandchildren. She also enjoyed embroidering projects and reading. For the past several years, Hazel made her home with her daughter, Mary, who lovingly cared for her. Left to cherish her memories are her 11 children, Susan (Lyle) Sizemore of Wewahitchka, FL, Karen Allen of Ashtabula, Michael (Patty Pindale) Allen of Dorset, Clifford Allen, Jr. of Pierpont, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Wann of Jefferson City, MO, Diane (William) Dismukes of Williamsfield, Jayne (Stephen, Sr.) Strull of N.
