Amos Gildersleeve ASHTABULA – Amos Junior Gildersleeve, 55, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022. He was born November 14, 1966 in Ashtabula, the son of Joann (Lambert) Johnson and Bud Johnson, and was a lifelong Ashtabula resident. He attended Harbor High School and worked as a tradesman most of his career in residential construction. Amos always loved and appreciated the little things in life. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends. He often worked on cars and found it relaxing to hop on the mower and cut the grass. He is survived by four children, Christy (Jeremy Welch) Gildersleeve of Thompson, Adam (Kelsey) Gildersleeve of Jefferson, Amos "A.J." (Christina) Gildersleeve of Ashtabula, and Madison Gildersleeve of Conneaut; 13 grandchildren; five siblings, Debra (Bruce) Fenton, Raymond Gildersleeve, Frank Gildersleeve, Patricia (Dave Baker) Johnson and Joyce (James) Hunt; his companion Marie Schulz; many nieces and nephews; and a special uncle who he was particularly close to, Kent Lambert of Ashtabula. Amos was preceded in death by both his parents in 2015. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 12:00pm until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Rev. Robert Falke, Pastor of Church of the Living God will officiate. Burial will be in Eagleville Cemetery, Austinburg Twp.
