Obituary of Charleen Vivian Carleton

Charleen Vivian Carleton, 81, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born December 5, 1940, in Ashtabula the daughter of the late Charles and Eileen (Malin) Bartlett. A lifelong area resident Charleen graduated from Ashtabula High School Class of 1958. Charleen retired as a receiving clerk at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. Over the years she also worked as a waitress at several area restaurants. Charleen was always on the go; she was always active in her son’s school and sporting activities. She enjoyed assisting with events and spending time with Tom and his friends. She enjoyed shopping and when she was not able to get out as easily, she resorted to QVC for her shopping needs. Charleen also enjoyed spending time at the lake and enjoying the natural beauty of our area. She is survived by her son, Tom (Chris) Carleton; her longtime companion and caregiver, Charles Hepler and his family. Charleen was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Lynn Carleton in 1966, and her parents. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 4PM at Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Friends may visit from 3PM until the time of service at 4PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Edgewood Cemetery in Ashtabula with her daughter.
