GENEVA – Keith Austin Russell, 94, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, at The Sanctuary of Geneva. He was born February 7, 1928, in Geneva, the son of Harry Carlton and Martha Dorothy (Glubner) Russell and had been a lifelong Geneva resident. A graduate of Geneva High School, he married Geraldine Maltby on July 1, 1950, and together they shared 64 years of love and memories before her passing. In 1952, Keith joined the US Navy and served two years before being honorably discharged. Always a hard worker, he retired from Reiter as a milk truck delivery driver after many years of service. He then helped his brother, Dick Russell, at Puritan Bakery in Painesville for several years and then worked in the maintenance department at Praxair. He also was an accomplished painter and wallpaper hanger and helped many people with these tasks for some side work. A member of the Geneva American Legion, George Call Post #124, he will never be forgotten by the family and friends whose lives he touched over the years. His survivors include two daughters, Vickie (Dale) Theilan of Geneva and Becky (Pete) Gardner of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Josh Theilan and Jennifer (Jason) Spring; two great-grandchildren, Zoe Austin, and Roland Theilan; and numerous nieces and nephews including Michael Harchalk whom he was particularly close to. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine L Russell on July 18, 2014; brothers, Arthur, Albert, Walter, Harry, Charles, and Richard Russell; two sisters, Rose Topperi and Edith Lehtone his two brother-in-laws, Bill and Bob Maltby who were like brothers; his nephew, Steve Harchalk with whom he spent a lot of time; and his parents A private family service will be held with burial in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
