Obituary of Charles G. Kondas

Charles G. Kondas, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Saybrook Landing. He was born on August 29, 1937 in Ashtabula, the son of Gus and Margaret (nee: Monahan) Kondas. Charles graduated from Harbor High School Class of 1956. He served honorably in the National Guard. Charles was a faithful member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Rod and Gun Club and past Vice-President of the Red Brook Boat Club. Mr. Kondas worked in the meat department at several grocery stores over the years, including Nappi’s, Kroger, Value King and retired from Giant Eagle in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and going boating. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, DiAnna M. (nee: Cox) Kondas; his children, Kenneth (Lesa Lariccia) Kondas and Kristine (Richard) McGill; grandchildren, Cpt. Ryan McGill, USAF, Collin McGill, Kyle Kondas, and MacKenzie Kondas; and his dear sister, Diane Gogul. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Marie Weaver, Rose Bourland, and Robert Kondas. Keeping with his wishes, private family services will be observed.
