Obituary of Elizabeth J. Armstrong

Elizabeth J. (McClain) Armstrong passed away at 94 years old on Friday, December 16th, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20th, 1928, to the late Roy and Olive (Jackson) McClain in Cleveland, Ohio. Elizabeth spent her working years in the cafeteria at Ashtabula Area City Schools for 30+ years. She loved being with the kids at work and her family referred to her as "everyone's Grandma". Outside of work, she adored spending time with her many grandchildren. She also loved doing yard work and reading books. Left to cherish Elizabeth's memories are her children, Dan (Monica) Armstrong, Larry Armstrong, Rick (Kellie Blauman) Armstrong, and Judy (Mike) DeDomenic. Elizabeth was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dog and constant companion, Lucky. Aside from her parents, Roy and Olive, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Edward Armstrong, whom she married on June 17th, 1946; her siblings, Harry McClain and Dorothy Rebar; and daughter-in-law, Linda. She also lost a son, Denny Armstrong in infancy. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, at 11am – 12pm at Greenlawn Memory Gardens 3140 E Center St. Conneaut, OH, 44030, followed by a 12pm funeral service. Immediately following services on Wednesday, friends and family are welcome to join for continued time of food and fellowship at Judy's home at 2027 W. 11th St. Ashtabula, OH, 44004.
