Lottie Gillespie, 91, of Ashtabula, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
A resident of Ashtabula for most of her life, Lottie was born September 3, 1931 in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of the late James Henry and Clyde (Sawyers) Huffman.
A dedicated homemaker, Lottie’s joy in life was her family. She enjoyed entertaining them when they would come visit. A great cook, Lottie is most famous for her chicken and dumplings, pinto beans and cornbread. A big fan of Elvis, she enjoyed listening to his music and collecting Elvis plates.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert (June) Gillespie of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Mark Knapp, Tina Knapp, Thomas Knapp; and great-grandchildren Cody, Zoie, Christian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Gillespie; sons, Ernie and Dennis Knapp; brother, Pete Huffman; sisters, Evelyn Cole and Emma Gray Loudermilk; nephew, Jim Cole; niece, Martha Cole; and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, N. Kingsville, OH with burial to follow.
