Obituary of Rudolph Earl Obhof

Rudolph "Rudy" Earl Obhof, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation, where he had been a resident the past few years. He was born on June 24, 1929 the son of Frank and Johanna (nee: Tinner) Obhof. Rudy attended Austinburg Schools, graduating from Austinburg High School Class of 1946. Rudy retired from Rock Creek Water Treatment Plant, and prior had worked as a chemist for Rayon in Painesville for 25 years. A lifelong learner, he attended Case Western Reserve University, obtaining his certification as an analytical chemistry apprentice. His family will remember him as smart, intelligent, and hardworking. Rudy also enjoyed helping his uncle Walter on the farm after a full day of work. Mr. Obhof is survived by his children, Joanie (Dave) Scafuro and Chris (Penny) Obhof; grandchildren, Robbie (Faith) Zuzek, Maryellen (Dave) Paukst, Mark (Sara) Scafuro, Michelle (David) Ringler, and Amber Obhof; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mae (nee: King) Obhof; children, Phillip Obhof and Susan Zuzek; and his siblings, Kathryn Candela, Corleen Obhof, Martin, William, Albert, Carl, Joseph, Edward, Otto and Max Obhof A celebration of life will be held, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 4:00PM at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, where friends and family may gather from 2PM until the time of service at 4PM. Following the service of time of food and fellowship will be held at the funeral home.
