Obituary of Theodore Charles Patrick Quirke

Theodore Charles Patrick Quirke, 77, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Ashtabula County Medical Center. Ted was born on January 18, 1946, in Ashtabula, the son of the late Theodore and Blennie (Terrell) Quirke. He graduated from Ashtabula High School Class of 1964. He married his wife, Geri (Fisk) Quirke on July 6, 1974. Ted loved his family, adventures, and helping people. He loved being with his wife of 48 years, his two daughters, his two granddaughters, and his nieces and nephews. Travel was one of his favorite hobbies, visiting all fifty states, South America, Europe, Africa, & the Caribbean. Over the years he enjoyed motorcycles, race cars, teaching SCUBA diving, sailing, cooking, reading, learning, hiking, and camping. He was passionate about helping people, often volunteering locally and as a snowbird at parks in Florida. He loved well and was a truly special man. He is greatly missed. Left to cherish Ted’s memories are his wife Geri, his daughters Kate (Joel) Slack and Kara Quirke, grandchildren Stella and Brenda Slack and his sister Sherry (Mel) Ferguson. Aside from Ted’s parents, Theodore and Blennie, he is preceded in death by his sister Sheila (Norm) Woodard, his brother PJ Quirke and son in law Donald Lacy. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 10AM – 11AM. Services are to follow at 11 AM at the Zaback-William-Ducro Funeral Home 500 W Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 with certified celebrant Peachy Chatman officiating. The family has requested that you wear a mask upon entering the funeral home and during the duration of the services.
