Obituary of Mark D. Hoplight

Mark D. Hoplight, 65, of Ashtabula, passed away in his home on Sunday, February 12, 2023. A resident of Ashtabula for most of his life, Mark was born on May 13, 1957, a son of the late William and Irene (Rood) Hoplight. During his free time, Mark enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, hanging out with family and friends, and teaching his grandchildren how to cook. Mark honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1974 – 1976. He served in the Vietnam War. Mark worked on the oil rigs and throwed brick as a masonry. He is survived by his children, Mark T. Hoplight, Patricia Hoplight, Britta (Chris) Adamini, Crystal Hoplight (Lawrence Santilli), and Jason David; stepchildren, Stephanie Todd, Heather Tackett, and Courtney Todd; five grandchildren, Lauren Carr, Drake Hoplight, Lawrence Santilli, Jr., Gionna and Gregory Adamini; two sisters, Pam (Irwin) Chapman and Karen (Stephen) Harchalk; his brother, Lloyd (Sona) Hoplight. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his six siblings, Jack (Laura) Hoplight, Ted Hoplight, Dave Hoplight, Bill Hoplight, Gloria Farr and Sally (Eddie) Wolford.
