Kenneth Glenn Manis, 69, of Geneva, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his home peacefully in his sleep. He was born July 11, 1953, in Painesville, the son of the late Phillip and Norene Clare (Miller) Manis. A lifelong area resident, he worked for many years as a janitor at Lake East Hospital. He married the love of his life Donna Russell on December 12, 1981. Ken attended Gateway Church in Austinburg. He enjoyed listening to Christian music, drawing, painting, and watching “Emergency” on TV . Ken was proud of his sobriety and enjoyed the sober life for the last 15 years. Lobster, Peanut Butter M&M’s, and cookies were among his favorite things to eat. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Donna; son, Kenneth Manis, Jr. and his wife Martina; siblings, Karen Moore, Norma (Dale) Nolin, Mark (Stephanie) Manis, and Phillip “Skip” Manis; daughter-in-law, Crystal Moore; grandchildren, Ivy, Dustin, Marquese, Desiree, Lacy, Darian, Michael, Sapphire, Kyden, Seth, Addy, Lucas, Landen, Athena, Grant, Rex, and Graham; and one great-grandchild. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Michael Manis; grandson, Gavin Manis; brother, Tony Manis; and his parents. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 4PM at the Gateway Church, 2300 Austinburg Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio. Pastor Craig Adams will officiate. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula who is handling arrangements.
