Obituary of Jeanette L. Bertrand

Jeanette Laurene Bertrand Jeanette “Nettie” L. Bertrand, 80, of Ashtabula passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was born August 24, 1942, in Ashtabula, Ohio the daughter of the late Paul Clyde and Eleanor Leona (Shadduck) Landon. Jeanette graduated from Edgewood High School Class of 1961. She married Freddie Bertrand on September 20, 1983. Over the years, Jeanette enjoyed attending various churches and bible studies with her friends. She enjoyed singing and listening to the Will Rodgers Station. Most of all her purpose in life she was a caregiver, she worked in home health, hospice, and raised six children. Her family was what was most important, and she looked forward any time that could be spent with them. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Freddie; her children, Suzzanne Scardino, Peter (Tim Lord) Scardino, Jacqueline (Dave) Spangler, Janene (Mike) Socko, Jennifer (Ed) Crawford, and Roman (Annette) Bertrand; her sister, Cher (Andrew) Oakman; grandchildren, Heather (Jon) Rivera, Britainy (CJ) Graf, Stephanie (Travis) Campbell, Michelle (Matt) Munson, Eddie Crawford, Barry John Benedict, Patrick Bertrand, Hannah Scardino, Peyton Bertrand, and Joey Scardino; and seven great-grandchildren. Nettie was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Hackundy; brother, Robert Landon; and her parents. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12PM at the Kingsville Presbyterian Church, 3056 W. Main St., Kingsville, Ohio 44048.
