Obituary of Rev. Edward W. Sturgill

Rev. Edward W. Sturgill ASHTABULA – Rev. Edward Wayne Sturgill, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday April 7, 2023, at his home. He was born May 24, 1958, in Oak Hill, WV, the son of Clarence E. and Emma M. (Belle) Sturgill and had been an Ashtabula resident most of his life. A graduate of Bible School, he married the love of his life, Deborah Lemmon on April 9, 1977, and together they raised a loving family of three children. Ed worked for Handle-it in Mentor as a warehouse supervisor for 10 years but also pastored in Akron at the Church of God of Prophecy. He loved family gatherings and spending time with all his grandbabies. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, playing X-box, and golfing. His survivors include his wife, Deborah Sturgill; three children, Brian Joseph Sturgill, Amanda Marie Sturgill, and Carrie Lee Wagner; eight grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, Brianna, Adrianna, Jordan, Justyn, Wilberto Evan, and Rain; 7 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Greg (Carol) Sturgill, Sandy Sturgill, and Kevin Sturgill. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Debra Lynn Vallance. Calling hours will be held from 5PM to 7PM on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004, with Rev. John Stevenson of Urichsville officiating.
