Obituary of Janet Lee Diamond

Janet Lee Diamond, 59, of Ashtabula, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. A lifelong resident of Ashtabula County, Janet was born November 12, 1963, daughter of Edward Pal and Linda Bates and graduated Ashtabula High School in 1982. Janet worked for Ashtabula County for most of her career. The past two years, she worked for the Commissioners as a Maintenance Custodian, but previously spent a year at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home and before that nearly 25 years with the Youth Detention Center (YDC). A love for animals, Janet supported the local Ashtabula APL in many ways, enjoyed feeding hummingbirds and tending to her flower garden. In her spare time, she would relax by reading a good murder mystery book. She also found joy in riding around in her Baby Blue Jeep Renegade, going to car shows with her dad, going on cruises and traveling. Above all, she loved her family and the cherished memories made throughout the years. Janet is survived by her fiancé, Jerry Luke of Ashtabula; son, Branden Porter (fiancée, Erin Hills) of Kingsville; daughter, Crystal (Chris) Johnson of Ashtabula, sister, Kim Mullins of Ashtabula; two brothers, Casey Pal and Edward Pal, Jr., both of TX; father, Edward Pal, of Ashtabula; mother, Linda Brantley of TX; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Kedrick, Jaxson, Briceson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Alex Pal, whom she was very close to; and her beloved pets-three dogs, Daisy, Roxy, Bella and two cats, Dash and Gabby Calling hours will be held from 10AM to 12PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004 immediately followed by the funeral service starting at 12PM. Rev. Steve Sargent will be officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashtabula.
