Please share a memory of Jeffery to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeffery Lynn Harris, 64, of Garrett Road, Jefferson passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at Ashtabula County Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 17, 1958, in Belding, MI, the son of the late Jack and Katherine (Sias) Harris. After graduating from Belding High School, he attended the University of Michigan with hopes of playing football for the Wolverines. While that never materialized, he joined the US Navy after 2 years at U of M where he served 9 years before being honorably discharged and he remained a proud veteran and Wolverine fan. After meeting his soulmate Robin Goodrow in Saratoga, NY while being stationed nearby, they quickly fell in love and were married within a year on June 12, 1982. After the military, a job at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant brought Jeff to northeast Ohio where they lived in Painesville before wanting to relocate to a more rural setting which brought them to Jefferson 15 years ago. During his career at Perry Nuclear, Jeff worked in the chemistry, radiation and protection departments before becoming a part of the original FIN (Fix It Now) Team of which he was incredibly proud. He later retired as a training supervisor in 2018 after 32 years with the company, having earned his nuclear engineering degree at Cleveland State University during his employment. Jeffery loved fishing, rock-n-roll music, and playing video games and had a passion for Wolverine football. He dearly loved his family and will be missed by all those whose lives he touched over the years. His survivors include his wife of nearly 41 years, Robin; five children, Stephan (Gretchen) Harris of Madison, Thurlene (Ian) Frowerk and Cara Basusta, both of Jefferson, Brooke (Kevin) Burnette of Conneaut, and Alan Harris of PA; 8 grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Pellerito and Keri Millarch, both of Michigan; and his beloved canine companions, Ginger and Gabriel. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Bradley Harris; and his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held starting at 1PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at his home, 914 Garrett Road, Jefferson, OH.
