Obituary of Olen Leroy Pritt

Olen Leroy “Roy” Pritt, 68, of Ashtabula passed away in the early morning of May 29, 2023, at ACMC after a lengthy illness. Roy was born on July 11, 1954, in Glenville, West Virginia, the son of the late Ernest and Gladys (Greenlief) Pritt. He graduated from Ashtabula High School. He married Janet Meyer of St. Mary’s Pennsylvania on February 18, 1988. Roy worked for many years at Alleghany Color in Ridgway, PA. Roy was a passionate football fan, self-proclaimed Ohio State Buckeye on Saturday and a Cleveland Brown on Sunday. He also enjoyed fishing and listening to Rock Music, the louder the better. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet; daughters, Julia (Doug) Latcovich and Stacey (Ryan) Snyder; sons, Philip Scardino and Jason (Amanda) Scardino; sister, Deborah Woodard; brothers, Marlin and Marvin Pritt, and Tim (Lisa) Hughart; In-laws, Sharon (Dave) Erich, and Brian (Barb) Meyer; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his daughters, Kathryn Moriarity and Brittany Pritt; brother, Richard Greenlief; son-in-law, Justin Latcovich; and brother-in-law, Doug Woodard. Roy loved his daughters and loved to have fun. He would want his life celebrated in the same way. But as he often warned. “Don’t have too much fun, but if you do, name it after me.” A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
