Mark Gordon Dibley

ASHTABULA – Mark Gordon Dibley, 66, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

Born December 17, 1951 in West Covina, CA, he spent his formative years in Glendora, CA where he excelled in baseball and football.  He obtained football scholarships to Citrus College, UC Berkley, and San Diego State, from which he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

Mark operated a tax preparation service in San Diego and was still active in that business.

He loved music, fishing in the Sierras with his friend Richard Muench, bonfires in the desert, overnight camping with his friend Robert Wallisch and playing golf with friends Brian Murphy and Bud Oliviera.

He loved poker and played at least weekly with his San Diego friends John Michael Costa, Bill Heckman, and with his Ashtabula friends, Pete Welch, Dave Cussman, “Shaboo”, “Frenchy”, and Jim Richie.

He was a member of the Ashtabula Elks, the EAC, and the North End Club.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers; step-father; and mother, Patricia.

His survivors include his wife, Jennifer (Zalimeni) Dibley, whom he married August 2, 1979; his daughter, Chloe; his step-daughter, Nicole and her husband Joseph, and their two sons, Ian and Alex; and his cousins, Hayley, Lisa, Mike, and Jeff.

A memorial service will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 W. 6th St.., Ashtabula. Rev. Raymond Thomas, Pastor will preside.
