Colleen Crawford posted a condolence

I went to school with Carl and crossed paths again with him and his mom at Contact Ashtabula County. (a 24 hour helpline). He was a kind and gentle soul who never had a bed word to say about anyone. The world is less without Carl in it.
My deepest condolences, to his family and friends.

Scott and I went to Edgewood High School with Carl. He was such a lovely kind person and always had a smile. The world needs more people like Carl!

I went to school with Carl but unfortunately moved away and had not kept in touch with him over the years. He was an important member of the Warrior band and many other clubs in school and I just remember how kind and sweet he was to all of us. We really enjoyed our time with Carl. He was very talented and gifted and often entertained us by impersonating our favorite teachers. He had an uncanny ability to pick up on what made someone unique and special and did it in a way that didn't offend or hurt anyone, but rather brought joy and laughter to whomever was in his presence, even the one he was impersonating! I regret not seeing him in our adult lives and from reading about everything he did in his life, I see that I missed out on knowing a wonderful person. My sincere condolences to his wife, Bonnie, and all of Carl's loving family and friends. We are all blessed to have known him. May he rest in peace.
Jan Philipps Oosterhous, EHS Class of 1983
P.S. I'm attaching a picture I took of him on the bus during one of our band trips, his senior yearbook photo, and a photo of him performing one of his famous impersonations.
