Carl married his soulmate, Bonnie (Amsden) May on May 20, 2000, at Ashtabula First Baptist Church. Carl obtained his BS in Education from Kent State University and worked as a substitute teacher for Ashtabula County Schools for many years. He enjoyed working at Ashtabula First Presbyterian Church in a maintenance capacity. His love for trains led to Carl working on freight trains at the Jefferson Depot. Carl found his unexpected occupation working for Ken Forging, Inc. He learned a variety of skills and earned multiple titles during his 22 years there. He was an oiler, maintenance and sewage treatment technician. Carl enjoyed model trains, Great Lakes’ boats, visiting zoos with his family, camping with his wife and dogs, bike rides and backyard campfires. A proud dog dad, he loved walking his dogs with his loving wife by his side. Carl was a proud member of Ashtabula First Baptist Church where he was baptized over 20 years ago. He served as a Deacon, a younger youth volunteer, and on the Christian Education Board, along with singing in the choir. Carl is survived by his wife, Bonnie May, his sister Mary(Kevin) Rossi of Mentor. His sisters-in-law Thirza (David) Lovejoy and Desiree Patterson.
