Obituary of Leslie Allen Sparks

Leslie A. Sparks CLEVELAND- Leslie Allen “Al” Sparks, 81 of Saybrook passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at UH Cleveland after a short illness. The son of Robert G. and Nellie D. (Hefner) Sparks Al was born on September 3, 1940, in Dorset, Ohio. Al and Gail Waldron were married November 20, 2001, their time together was filled with many wonderful moments that have now become treasures of the heart. Al was always an entrepreneur, looking for the next great idea; he and Frank Schwentker owned and operated S&S Auto Sales in Ashtabula and Kingsville for ten years. Al began Trader Al Auto Sales with a successful business dealing with newer used cars and going to auctions in Columbus. After closing the business Al went to work for Bob Hill Chrysler, G&H Motor Sales and Quality Sales and Services in Madison as a Used Car Manager. Al could never get away from cars; he enjoyed selling and driving cars. Al enjoyed traveling, going for rides and stopping by McDonalds and Kardohely’s for coffee with friends. He valued his friendships that he made over the years. Al was concerned with his appearance, he felt that in dealing with the public neatness was an asset, his desk and surroundings were always neat in clean. He was well groomed, and every hair was in place when he met people. Al will be remembered as a devoted husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather. His love for his family was unconditional. Al is survived by his loving wife, Gail Sparks; children Holly (Jason) Mize, Christopher Sparks, Allen (Kelly) Waldron; grandchildren, Tori, Caleb, and Chase Mize, Mackenzie Sparks, Ashley (Alex)Daly, Paige, Caden , Abby Waldron; great granddaughter, Kinslee Waldron; brothers, Francis of Bourbonnais, Il, William of Nashville, TN, Thomas (Renee`) Sparks of Columbus. Al was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Roberta Woodruff and David Sparks. There will be no services at this time. Donations in Al’s name may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
